10 Essential Items That Will Significantly Improve Your Camping Experience

The closest I’ve come to camping is glamping since the whole concept of sleeping outside honestly scares me. I love being in nature, but the inconvenience of not being in a house environment is a little too much. To help people like me, a forum member in a Coachella camping community asked members for some essentials to improve the experience. If you’re anything like me, here is a list.

1. A Folding Camping Table

You only realize the luxury of having a table when you don’t have one. A camper says they got a little folding camping table they use to make sandwiches and play cards. It’s made a huge difference since they don’t have to sit on the ground.

2. Power Station

Several avid campers recommend getting a power station to recharge phones and speakers. However, be careful not to surpass the 27,000 mAh capacity as most airlines stipulate.

3. Outdoor Camping Shower

You’re more likely to have a better camping experience if you don’t spend more time in the bathroom. Someone suggests getting an outdoor camping shower as you can sleep longer while letting your water bag heat up. You do not need to get up early when the line is shorter (or there is no line) to shower.

4. Dry Ice

Dry ice is the best solution to keeping things cold when camping. An outdoor enthusiast indicates that you should not handle it with your bare hands. Place several water bottles on top of it, as it will freeze everything on top of it.

5. Sandbags

If you do not want to fight the wind for your tent, a person advocates putting sandbags (or rocks) at every corner of your tent. You can wrap them around the legs of your easy-up.

While camping with their former girlfriend, they made photo-shoot-style bags with her fabric. They held the tent tight when the winds got crazy.

6. Ziplock Bags

The biggest problem with dry ice is that your food may get bubbly and carbonated. One explains that the dry ice can release carbon, which will seep into the food. Store your food in a ziplock, freezer bag, or sealed container to prevent this. Add food storage options to your easy camp kitchen setup.

7. Memory Foam Mattress

According to another camper, a roll-up memory foam mattress is better than a blow-up mattress, especially if you have enough space. It offers more comfort and is less bouncy. Thus, it’s perfect if you’re sharing with another person. Mornings with a foam mattress may be hotter, but you’ll sleep better.

Having a memory foam mattress makes camping so much better, you’ll practically be glamping.

8. Outdoor Carpets

Being in nature is all fun and games until you step on pokey things. Many confirm that carpets are an underrated essential. They keep your feet clean as you walk around the campsite.

It’s better to step on a soft surface when you leave your tent rather than dead grass. Also, remember to ensure your carpet is thick enough, as some pokey things can penetrate through light carpets.

9. A Battery Pack

A responder writes that they carry a battery pack with sufficient power capacity. Last year, they used it to run the lights at the campsite, refill their air mattress after inflating it with a car inflator, and charge their neighbors’ phones. After all that use, they still had lots of battery left. Battery packs are affordable and great for emergencies, not just camping.

10. Water Supply

Finally, an internet user adds that you should bring your water supply. They have their jugs that they fill up with filtered water. Bring large jugs of water to help you stay prepared.

You can connect a camping sink and a battery-run shower head to use the water liberally. This makes your camping experience more comfortable.

Do you have something to add to this list for newbie campers?
