1. The Lake Champlain Monster

A forum member claims to have seen the Lake Champlain monster, or Champ, about ten years ago. They describe a turtle, eight feet in diameter, resembling a giant Southeast Asian softshell turtle. Calling the sighting unreal, this member adds, “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

2. The Kraken

Recalling the paintings from the 1800s where sailors are shown battling some thirty-six feet long creatures, one person believes the Kraken might actually exist. While not as large as a small island, a large enough squid seems plausible. “This is the only Cryptid that I believe is out there,” they add.

3. Untouchable Bathysphere Fish

For one person, the giant dragonfish and pallid sailfin might exist. These fish are among the six disputed species known to be sighted in the depths of the Bermuda coast by William Beebe and his colleague.

4. The Deepstar 4000 Fish

Once spotted in the Pacific Ocean, one member shares that the credibility of the eyewitness makes this cryptid’s existence plausible. Similar to sea bass in form, this enormous fish is alleged to be between twenty-five to forty feet in length.

5. Timor Sea Ground Shark

A cryptid’s existence becomes more plausible when a natural counterpart exists. Such is the case for this shark which, according to one user, resembles an enormous, more carnivorous version of the Wobbegong shark.

6. Marvin the Monster

This invertebrate has compelling photographic evidence to back up its existence. The footage estimates the creature to be fifteen feet long but merely six in diameter. Marvin moves in a unique spiraling motion with ridges all over its body. Alas, scientists at the time couldn’t identify its species.

7. Gigliogi’s Whale

Also known as Amphiptera Pacifica, this whale is unique for having two large dorsal fins, a feature not found in any other whale. According to a curious member, the possibility of it existing is high since a zoologist sighted it.

8. The Dobhar-chú

This giant carnivorous sea monster is known to have origins in Ireland. Historical accounts characterize this creature as almost like a giant otter. According to one, it most certainly exists. “If not currently, then in the not-so-distant past,” they add.

9. The Iliamna Lake Monster

Known as Illie to the locals of Iliamna villagers, this creature is estimated to be ten to thirty feet long. As per a biologist’s speculation, a member suspects it to be a giant sturgeon or even a giant pike fish.

10. Water Babies

These dangerous water spirits are recorded in folklore. As the name suggests, these creatures take the shape of human infants with reptilian or fish-like features. They can mimic the sounds of a human baby to attract prey. Some tribal stories even think of their cry as a bad omen.

11. Sea Serpents

Whether or not you’re a cryptid enthusiast, chances are you’ve encountered some depiction of ship-attacking sea serpents in countless traveler’s tales. These curious creatures were most popular during the European Age of Exploration. Perhaps such popularity warrants some truth to their existence.

12. Giant Jellyfish

Several sightings of these creatures exist, leaving many in awe. Suspected to be fifty to one hundred feet in diameter, this jellyfish sparks the curiosity of many. As one person aptly highlights, “The ocean is a big place, and the depths have secrets.”
