With 15,901 UFO sightings, California is the state to visit if you desperately want to spot a UFO in the sky.
2. Florida

Florida has had over 8,090 UFO sightings and is one of the USA’s most “alien-active” states. Although one astronomer said these sightings could be the ISS, weather balloons, or satellites, most of those who’ve reported them believe they are alien-related.
3. Washington

The 7,076 UFO sightings make Washington State the third most UFO-active state and another great spot to catch a sighting if you’re lucky.
4. Texas

Texas, another hotspot, has reported 6,011 UFO sightings. One investigator says that he can identify 95% of reports as drones, balloons, or natural occurrences but still encourages the public to keep their eyes open for any unusual activity in the sky.
5. New York

New York is fifth on the list, with 5,771 sightings. Interestingly, reports of UFO sightings in New York doubled during the pandemic due to less sky pollution and people having more time to look at the sky.
6. Pennsylvania

Many of the 4,916 UFO sightings seen in Pennsylvania have been reported by commercial airline pilots, U.S. military personnel, and police officers, attracting the U.S. military’s attention.
7. Arizona

Arizona is known as a hotspot for UFO sightings, with 4,865 sightings. Data shows that there have been almost 1,000 sightings for every 100,000 Arizona residents in the last five years.

Ohio residents reported an astonishing sighting of hovering, rotating green lights in the sky above them in June. The video of the sighting made the rounds on social media, making many people question the existence of aliens. This sighting is one of the 4,371 that have been reported in Ohio.
9. Illinois

Many residents have reported strange lights flashing above their towns, causing local police to scramble to identify them and lay the residents’ fears at ease. So far, the state has 4,206 reported UFO sightings.
10. North Carolina

In eighteen months, almost 260 North Carolina residents have reported UFO sightings. In June, there were 14 sightings communicated to authorities. Its 3,592 sightings make North Carolina one of the top ten UFO hotspots in America.

At the beginning of 2023, Michigan made it into the news when U.S. forces shot down a UFO over Lake Huron. This exciting yet scary event alerted residents, making them spend more time looking up to the skies and bringing Michigan’s total number of UFO reportings to 3,584.

McMinnville, Oregon, holds an annual UFO Festival where people of all ages gather to listen to extraterrestrial experts’ presentations, watch sci-fi screenings, and partake in alien costume contests. Investigator and Author Says People Are Mysteriously Missing in National Parks

People are going missing in national parks and North American wilderness areas. A 2019 documentary, Missing 411: The Hunted, reports as many as 1,200 individuals have disappeared, but also admits that number may be under-reported.
David Paulides, a former police detective turned private investigator, is the author of the popular Missing 411 series and documentaries of the same name, as well as the CanAm Missing Project. He said, “We don’t know how many people go missing from these locations because the USFS [United States Forest Service] and NPS [National Park Service] refuse to release a list of these missing people.”
