So, which American cities are the cleanest? This list shares the main urban contenders, as voted by Americans themselves.
1. Long Beach, California

California can be hailed for its forward-thinking eco legislation. Within the state, the city of Long Beach reigns. It’s been named “the cleanest city in America” in one Forbes list, based on an examination of its “quantity of recycling collectors, garbage disposal satisfaction, electric vehicle market share and pollution,” alongside other factors.
2. Norfolk, Virginia
